Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is one of the flagship villages and among the most reputed in Burgundy. Meursault is often referred to as the capital of Burgundy's great whites. Aerial photos of the village town hall's multi-coloured varnished roof tiles are known worldwide. The soil here is white marly limestone-and-clay on sloping hillsides orientated east-southeast. "Les Charmes" premier cru is a premium class vineyard parcel and easily matches the great white Grand Crus of Burgundy.
Beautiful golden robe. Generous and flattering, with notes of crystallised lemon, almonds, white flowers and freshly-baked bread. The mouth is suave and velvety without heaviness, with hints of warm brioche and spices. Persistent and tasty, the finish mirrors the bouquet's aromas. The nose is discreetly toasty followed by elegant floral notes on a backdrop of light plum and pear fruity aromas. The mouth is powerful, well-balanced and dense, with delicious brioche flavours. The finish is persistent and very aromatic. Ideal with fine fish, big shellfish, white meats, poultry in sauce and strong cheeses. Serve at 12°C - 14°C. This wine will reveal its full aromas after several years' keeping: between 7 and 10 years or more.
