This is one of the oldest properties in Bordeaux. The vineyards were first planted in the XIIIth century by Bertrand de Goth. He was elected Pope in 1305 and took the name of Clément V. Wine has been made here continuously for 7 centuries. In the 1980s, Bernard Magrez took over the Château. Ever since, he has deployed every means possible to ensure that Château Pape Clément’s exceptional terroir continues to flourish through time and to express the finesse that has made its wines so famous.
