Dalwhinnie is the highlands highest and coldest distillery and spends much of the year under a blanket of pure snow with an average temperature of just 6.5º. The winter is the friend of Dalwhinnie and when we make gold.
The winter is the best of the year at Dalwhinnie. The distillery runs colder meaning less copper conversation in our traditional style worm tubs that sit outside, exposed to the elements. A wonderfully complex, characterful distillery spirit is born which we then mature in oak casks to shape a rich, golden honeyed single malt.

Dalwhinnie has a long tradition of being served cold and to honour the winter mountain climate that gives birth to this incredible whisky, we recommend Winter's Gold is served straight from the freezer in a chilled whisky tumbler.
