A more recent Dewar's blend, expertly crafted by Dewar's 7th Master Blender, Stephanie Macleod. The carefully selected malts and grain Whiskies in this blend have been matured in sherry and bourbon casks and once blended put pack into specially selected oak casks to marry for greater smoothness and a longer, lingering finish. Called ""The Monarch"", Dewar's 15 Year Old was named after the famous 1851 painting "" The Monarch of Glen"" by Sir Edwin Landseer, which was owned by John Dewar's and Sons.
