The first release in the Legends collection, Glenmorangie Duthac honours the annual pilgrimage of King James IV along ‘the King’s route’ to the shrine of Saint Duthac, to be found in Tain, the home of Glenmorangie. An outstanding single malt, it has been finished in casks that once contained Pedro Ximénez – ‘the King of Sherries’ – as well as charred virgin oak casks. The result is a deep bronze whisky showcasing a beguiling paradox of flavours.
A classic Glenmorangie backbone, with a clever balance between the bold sweetness from the PX casks and an intense, spicy side from the charred virgin oak. At 43% ABV, this is a smooth and easy-drinking single malt to be appreciated by newcomers and aficionados alike. Seductive aromas of pear, toffee apple and Brazil nuts in toffee, with a few underlying notes of spice and toasty oak. Mouth-filling flavours of milk chocolate, toffee, Brazil nuts, and leather, together with some aniseed and a spiciness of ginger and cloves.
