Launched in 1972 to celebrate the bicentenary of the house, this champagne is a tribute to Madame Clicquot, known as the "Grande Dame du Champagne". In the VCP style, the Grande Dame accentuates the Pinot Noir.
The first nose reveals a salty, mineral scent, followed by notes of red fruit (morel, wild strawberry, red currant) and aromas of cocoa beans and sweet spices. After the toss, these smoky characteristics are further emphasized, while the aromatic complexity of the great Pinot Noirs remains omnipresent.
