Backing up onto the Massif Central foothills, Domaine de Fenouillet’s vines unfold across craggy hills and narrow valleys. This unusual topography creates elevated coombs, small terraces half-way up the slope where the property’s best wines come from. The vineyard also enjoys an ideal spot on the Faugères appellation’s highest hillsides (up to 300 metres), favourable for slow even grape-ripening, low acidity, fresh fruit aromas and velvety tannins.
Colour : intense garnet colour. Nose : very expressive with wild berry (raspberry, blackcurrant), spicy and mineral notes. Palate : silky and complex with round tannins, a remarkable freshness and an elegant spicy finish. To be tasted at 16-17°C with grilled meats, a game stew or matured cheese. Can be laid down for up to 5 years.
