Dr. L Riesling embodies the elegant and racy characteristics the slate-soil Mosel vineyards. The Mosel’s steep, south-facing slopes create the perfect climate for Riesling, giving the vines ideal exposure to the sun. Generally cool conditions allow the grapes to ripen slowly while retaining acidity. This produces vibrant wines that capture the strong minerality of the soil. Winemaker Ernst Loosen is also one of Germany's most respected wine personalities.
Dr. L Riesling evokes a walk through an orchard in the late summer: luscious pear, peach and apple aromas retain the crisp sweet-tart quality of ripening fruit just before harvest. On the palate, the wine is refreshing, juicy and zippy. A perfect pour for brunch, it complements everything from rich eggs and hollandaise to sweet waffles and salty meats. It’s also excellent with Asian noodle dishes especially if there is a touch of heat involved. Suggested serving temperature: 45-50°F (7-10°C).
