Castiglioni Chianti is a deep ruby red with purplish highlights. Notes of small red-berry fruits like mulberry and currant insinuate themselves on the nose, while the ripe plum is perfectly in tune with fragrant violet and geranium. The palate is smooth, warm and elegantly balanced. A long, harmonious finish, good persistency, with a lightly spicy aftertaste. Serving suggestions: Full-flavoured dishes such as meat-sauced pappardelle, and roast chicken as well, sautéed beef with vegetables, and medium-aged cheeses
