Since 1882, the Wegeler Wineries have been synonymous with outstanding Riesling quality from the Rheingau. First-class vineyards yield expressive wines characterised by elegance, depth and great ageing potential. A special cuvée is the ‘Geheimrat J’, a dry Riesling from selected top vineyards. As the wines are matured in the winery’s own cellars, they are only released when they have reached optimal drinking maturity, guaranteeing an exceptional tasting experience.

Clear, brilliant mahogany in color. On the nose, dried fruit, plums, and fully ripe damsons unfold alongside baked apple, candied orange peel, and red currants. The palate is creamy and soft, supported by lively, well-integrated acidity. Candied orange and hazelnut accompany the long, gentle finish. Despite its comparatively dark color, the wine surprises with exceptional harmony, remarkable aromatic complexity, and a distinctive orange-like freshness.
