Initially aged in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, in 2008 the liquid was then transferred into 30 year old Gonzalez Byass Matusalem oloroso sherry butts. For seven long years it remained in these rare sherry butts before being transferred into first fill bourbon barrels prior to its bottling in 2017.
