As is the age-old tradition of crafting single pot still Irish whiskey in Midleton, This whiskey has been distilled in large copperpot stills from a mash of both malted and unmalted Irish barley.

In creating this edition of Midleton Very Rare Single Cask Irish Whiskey, A First Fill American Bourbon Barrel was hand selected by Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman. The whiskey was filtered to remove wood char prior to being bottled at cask strength and no method of chill filtration was used.

NOSE Rich with sweet tones of toffee and roasted malt, while fruit notes of lemon zest with demerara sugar and ginger spice evoke a delightful assortment of flavours. The old and nostalgic influences of the charred oak add earthly woodland qualities to the vibran t pot still spices. TASTE Luscious with a mouthcoating texture and measured waves of pot still spice intensity. Delicate floral an d herbal notes quietly linger in the background adding freshly grated ginger and clove spice all the while complementing the soft ta nnins and sweet dulcet tones courtesy and the many years of undisturbed maturation.
