in 1382, the ÄRTZBERG was mentioned in a document as a vineyard site. As the original name suggests, the soil is rich in ore. Due to the difficult cultivation of this steep vineyard, winegrowing at Atzberg was abandoned after more than 700 years and was recultivated again since 2008.
