The Nussberg was already renowned for its outstanding wines during the Habsburg monarchy. Today, the Wieninger family cultivates the vineyard Ried Preussen in the very center of the Nussberg. This Riesling vineyard is over 40 years old and its soil consists mainly of extremely calcareous weathered limestone and sandstone, with the rock even reaching the surface in the upper part of the vineyard.
