Gin Fizz
This glamorous drink has been a party hit for 150 years. To this day, the popular cocktail has lost none of its sparkling freshness and elegant sweetness.
- 5 cl gin
- 3 cl lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 2 cl sugar syrup
- 10 cl soda
Shake the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup vigorously with ice cubes in a shaker. Strain into a highball glass with fresh ice cubes through a bar strainer, top up with soda and garnish with a slice of lemon.
Our reccomendation: Handcrafted Dry Gin from Whitley Neill.
Munich Mule
A refreshing gin variation of the Moscow Mule, which is based on vodka. Both drinks are traditionally served in a copper mug, but a tumbler or long drink glass will also do.
- 5 cl gin
- 2 cl lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 10–12 cl ginger beer
- 2–3 cucumber strips (make with a peeler)
Fill the copper mug with ice cubes, add gin and lime juice. Top up with ginger beer and stir briefly with a bar spoon. Garnish with cucumber strips.
Our reccomendation: Amazonia Gin from Hendrick’s.
Gin Basil Smash
A comparatively young drink that owes its exciting colour and spicy aroma to the combination of gin with fresh basil leaves. Deliciously and well-rounded!
- 6 cl gin
- 2 cl juice of an untreated lemon (freshly squeezed)
- 2 cl sugar syrup
- 10–15 basil leaves
Put the basil leaves and sugar syrup in the shaker and crush with a wooden muddler. Add the lemon juice, gin and ice and shake vigorously. Strain through a bar strainer into a tumbler filled with fresh ice and decorate with basil leaves.
Our reccomendation: No. Ten Gin from Tanqueray
